Here's a forged hunter from old sawblade steel. Good tough blade material that gets sharp and stays that way. My EDC is this same steel and I really like it. The handle is an elk tine with leather spacers, brass guard, pin and butt cap. This tine has a slight bend to the left which makes it really comfortable in the hand when using. Spec's are:
AOL: 8 3/4"
Blade: 3 3/4" to ricasso
Width" 1"
Thickness: 1/8"
Sheath: Veg-tan, natural oil finish, right hand carry
Price: $150.00 Includes shippiong in the CONUS. PayPal, money order or check.SOLD

That looks like it a great user! Someone will enjoy that piece quite a bit! Have I mentioned how much I love the simplicity of the flat ground blade?!?

Keep it up!

I love the blade, but....I really LOVE the sheath. That sheath is so clean and crisply made! I see some kind of striping under the handle at the top of the sheath. Can you show us a photo of that and tell how you did it. It looks to me like you used the little groove cutting tool that I use to make a groove from hole to hole for my hand stitching.

It is really nice looking. Great work!

Those lines are made with groover just like you use. I go all the way around first at the point of stitching and then go back expanding the width a little. It's really just a way to carve in a geometric pattern. You can follow the same lines on the belt loop to stay consistant throughout the sheath. It's a way to accent the blade and add a little subtle decoration to the sheath. I do some stamping, inlays, etc., but for a working sheath, this seems to work. Thanks for the good words!

Scott,
Rick does make some nice sheaths, I like his sheaths enough that He is one of my sheathmakers. I finally gave up on the sheathmaking myself and let Rick and another guy Tom Petty make all my sheaths now.
Good work Rick, Ready for some more damascus?
Thanks,
Del

Rick:

I just sent payment by PayPal. The shipping address is wrong. I sent you e-mail and PM with the correct address.

I received the knife yesterday. It is REALLY nice. I highly recommend Rick's work. :D
