Like you get several friends together and have a timed challenge? Or you tried to duplicate a product that was made on the show?

never tried, but I think it's much more difficult to work in someone else's shop

Sure, I do that all the time.
But absent the manufactured for TV angst & chumps drama.
Btw, Treasure hunt for JYS and materials is half the fun.

OK, ya'll are pretty good to forge a knife from a bar of steel to a complete knife in 6 hrs. Especially when doing the pattern welded steels.

I have thought often that it might be fun to just give myself 6hrs to see what I can come up with. Maybe even record it for the YouTube crowd.

Maybe not the 6 hour blades but the iconic weapon. Saw the episode with a boar spear and given how it worked on the pig carcass I was thinking a variant for a fish slayer on my boat.

Damn CA laws make it look illegal.
