To all who are interested a new show....Forged In Fire....will appear on The History channel June 22 on Mondays at 10pm...it will be several contestants forging and making all kinda of knives and testing of the blades while judges decide who stays and who goes!

I hope they actually show the stuff that goes into the knives, and not make it a "reality series". That show Counting Cars is supposed to be about working on cars, but I've never seen a single person turning a wrench on that show:(

Also please tell me as the show goes on your likes and dislikes and what would make it better....this was a hard show to get going and I'd like a season 2 and this is to target the knife community but you know with all the hands in the pot and in TV land your vision can be changed on a whim.....so yalls imput is extreamly important! So please contact me by email,PM, or in this post and I'll do my best to fix it or if it gets a season 2 I'll have yalls imput as ammo to help change things.

As long as it's the total opposite of what the last knife 'maker' show was about, I am sure it will interest all of us in the community as well as educate those outside of it.

Comedy is fine, but the last show was more Three Stooges, and less knife making.

I look forward to it.
Keep it genuine, and it should do well.

Sounds like it has potential.
Probably better than most other things on television in that time slot.

Taken from the press release "The panel will consist of Willis, knife and sword expert J. Neilson, combat specialist Doug Marcaida and weapon history buff David Baker."

This is true and if it pulls another season it's gonna be because the knife community watches if we don't watch it will be gone.

I know the show you speak of and this is nothing like that...lol.

My .02

I would actually like the exact same show^, only featuring the makers of more serious/ useable knives rather than fantasy knives. That show was great in that it was not centered around drama. It was actually centered around the knives/ swords and their creation. Contest shows seem to feed on drama, so I hope that is kept to a minimum. I will still try and watch it for the knives and craftsmanship though.

It would really be nice if the show created a larger demand for custom knives.:cool:
