Nice knife.
I just picked up a forge myself from Diamondback Ironworks. I have a home built one with a pyrometer for heat treating , and had another inefficient one that I made for forging. Now that I have a decent forging forge, I cant keep my hammer off the steel. What kind do you have?

Diamondback has his forges on sale now so I bought the single burner unit. Very efficient and brings the steel to weld temp in a short time. I heat treat in a furnace so don't use the forge for that purpose either. Thanks for the comment on the knife.

Hey Gerry, great blade,i picked up one of Dennis' forges yesterday at his shop in Huntersville.I got the 2 burner blacksmith model,we tried a friends out today at the meeting in Mooresville today,a nice solid built forge that performs at a good price.Dennis seems to be a very knowledgeable and nice guy.I got tired of building my own and wanted to try something efficient. This is not a paid endorsement:)-check them out at Diamondbackironworks.com---All the best Butch

GL, i have looked at your work for months and really like the creative craftsmanship in your work! Like the forged knifes you have recently posted.

Thanks JG.

I think I might have overpriced this one however. Let's drop it to $140 and see if that helps.

In my opinion i dont think it was over priced. I personally think the economy has caught up to the forums and now the edc's are feeling it on the price tag just to move blades. Its hard knowing what its worth and having to take less to keep busy.

I like that knife. I really like the tapered tang. That will make all the world of difference in the balance and "handiness".

Thanks Dr. A tapered tang just seems to come naturally at the forge. If I want to spread the steel out on the handle the taper just falls into place. The reason I was so reluctant to start forging was that I could not see any advantage over stock removal but I am able to be more flexible with design using hot steel and a hammer.
