Forged spike hawk

This one of my spike hawks I forged from a 16 oz. ball pein hammer.Plum Brown finish,the haft is a beautiful tiger maple.The haft was treated with a homemade aqua fortis,burned ,fine steel wool,tung oil then buffed on beeswax- oh yes file branded for a better grip-Specs are-- 17 7/8" OAL--7 "1/2" tip of spike to edge---Blade width 2 1/4"------ 180.00 postage and fees inc.,conusPaypal preferred at bjsilver1126@yahoo.com thanks for checking it out--Merry Christmas to all Butch--

I got to handle this hawk at a local hammer in last evening. It is nicer than it looks in the picture; a work of art. (I asked Butch if I could try it out by throwing it at the barn door but he wouldn't let me do it)

Yes I saw him at the forge with a gleam in his eye and it wasn't from the fire,sort of a possesed look:D Yes he'll be going for that 'as forged' look:thumbup:--Thanks Gerry
