Here is my latest spear point bowie. I finished this one a couple of hours ago. 8" blade of forged L-6, heat treated to 58rc. The grind is a classic sabre style with my usual ridge on the spine. The handle is the best pair of amber stag slabs I have seen in some time. A sterling silver shim separates the slabs, and has been engraved with a rope edge. Domed pins keep it all in place. The guard is sculpted, heat colored and has an 18k gold border around the blade ricaso seat. The ferule is heat colored and gold inlaid with a scalloped pattern. Finial and pomel are heat colored mild steel as well, with the pomel having been file worked and gold inlaid in a radil layout.
It's balance point is at the ferule. The knife can also be disassmbled by removing the finial for care and maintenance.
Gotta love STAG
