This is a forged axe made with the wrap&weld style of construction..The head is 1018 and the cutting bit is 1060 high carbon steel..The head was forged in a shape resembling a wood carvers axe.Left with a as forged finish..The cutting edge is 3 3/4" wide and the head is 5 3/4" long..Edge hardened and double tempered..The haft is Ash..Stained and sealed with boiled linseed oil. Then coated with wax. The sheath is made fom 8oz leather. Tooled and sealed with neatsfoot oil. Got it thanks! just got home and have been getting the generator ready..They are giving 12"-18" of snow for us this weekend:eek: Ill ship it in the morning.
 
Oh man ,been there with that snow coming ,, Hang tough..
That was a nice snag on that axe to,,looking good .....
