Forged W2 integral, the making of...

Very nice little knife. I agree in part with some of th others. You shouldn't drink while forging.....at least until you turn 21....lol

Great stuff Derrick and a great looking knife. Love the hamon. I agree with what the rest have said. Stick with the more complicated projects, you pull them off really well. See you in Atlanta.

This is an excellent thread!! I love WIP threads, they fascinate me. I guess I just love watching a knife being made. Thank you Wulf for the awesome thread. Your knife is beautiful!!

Although it pains me to say this, you did a fine job, Derrick! :p :D

Yesterday I just glanced at the photos and read the highlights. Cool.

Today I just read EVERY word, and ingested the project as written. I think the writing is as impressive as the making of the knife! ;)

Guys, Derrick is hosting a little hammer-in in July, and I am going to be giving a seminar on knife photography on the cheap. Wulf can't hide any longer..... :p

I learned a lot from this. Thanks for taking the time to chronicle your work.

Great thread, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wulf I sent you an email let me know if you got it. Thanks.

Got your email and replied JP - thanks.

Coop, glad you enjoyed the post.

And about the hammer-in, for those of you who haven't heard about it, check out the details on my website (you can follow this link). Coop will be there along with Burt Foster, Dan Farr, Joe Szilaski, Chris Kravitt, and possibly one or two others. Our friend Mace Vitale has also kindly agreed to run a "green coal" forging area as well. Should be a great time for everyone.

Great 'tutorial', D!

Proof-positive that you're at least as cool as I think you are!

...and no complaining about the snow and cold! At least you have walls and a real roof!;) :D

Dont think of your work as mediocre because you do not match the very best in the world! Thats a great looking knife and show flair for forging, design, finishing and a good eye for lines. Keep it up and you might find people collecting you.

I thoroughly enjoyed that writeup. Very humorous and self-effacing for something that turned out so well.

Don't let his coy ways fool ya'. About four years ago Wulf tried his hand at a little filework. It was so good I saved it.

Stunning for a 'newbie':

I thought he was wearing his "Shazam!' shirt in the original photo, no?:D

...still has the x-ray specs on, tho.

hah! you guys are killin me

Buddy - I still have that CD in the rotation. Jane loves it!

Coop - I had forgotten about that thing. Tried to teach myself a little filework I guess. Very surprised to see you still have the photo. You must save everything
