I've been in the market for a cattle knife for a while. Im digging the frame, looks like the Northwoods presidential and that downward pointed clip is dang purty. Anyone know what the size of these is going to be? If I were to guess, 4 1/4"?

Now that's a knife. It may be too big but I want one. I have a small collection of various patterns, but the one type that I have several examples of is a camp knife. Camillus, Case, Kabar, demo knife, BSA etc. I need one of these 98's.

Oh good god! Thats freakin' HUGE! I cant imagine anything bigger than my 53 stockman, man, maybe I'll have to pass on that one...or get a belt sheath for it :D

I have a 53 stockman too, green jigged bone. It is beefy, and this knife is much bigger. Anyone buying this is committing to belt carry only. I'm OK with that. Anything that will hold a folding hunter should handle this just fine.

I haven't been this excited about a GEC since I started buying them maybe eight years ago. At least three camp knives, a whittler and one or two cattle knives. If you could see my bank statement, you'd know that's a serious commitment...

It's gigantic! I'm passing on this one. I wish it was a bit shorter.

Take this big frame. Offset grind the clip so it is thin. Opposite the clip, on the same spring, from thinner stock with a catch bit, insert a sheep. One layer (single spring). Bare headed on both sides, or normal contoured bolsters with ring (s), no chamfer. Dream come true, for me anyway. I'm buying a version or two anyhow........

Too Much Knife...for my requirements anyway. I like a pocket-knife that you can keep in the pocket. But, it certainly will be well-built and attract followers....

Well it looks like the bolsters wi indeed be chamfered and ringed. Like the Northwoods presidentials. Not my cup of tea, but I'm still iterested in picking up a camp knife, maybe a Cattle, but I don't think a whittler, we'll see.

It will be iteresting to see if the whittler is a split back or a liner less three spring. Also, if it ends up like the 54 whittler was, the blade stock was thinner from the start as opposed to the stockmans, etc, so that clip was thinner and quite the slicer-like that found on the TK cubans.

Also very interested in the whittler configuration. Lots of handle for leverage will make it very useful.
