Forging at the Farr shop

If I had a nickel for every time we had to stop and take a picture with the Burt mask, I wouldn't have to make knives, I''d be retired!

Dan

This was my first time meeting any sort of Knife maker face to face, and I had a superb time! Dan is an excellent teacher, and all three of the guys were excellent company and encouragement. Burt inadvertently lent a hand by making many appearances around the shop in the form of a floating head, and Matt's ability to Hatch some leather is something I won't soon forget.

Great time, great people, and a really great experience.

This would be my first time posting on these here forums, so to introduce myself, I'm Dan "Kaleb" Morgan. I'm not even quite sure how I got the nickname, but I appear to be doomed with it forever.

Wow, if you can do that in 15 F I should invite you up to Northern Alberta, can you imagine what you guys could do in -30 C. Thanks for sharing the pictures. It looked like a great weekend.

Roger using his new best friend, the Bader BIII grinder:

If Roger and the Bader BIII feel that they're inseparable best friends, he might decide to sell knives to fund its adoption. A bowie with a 9.75"-10.25" long by 1.75"-2.5" wide blade and either stippled walnut or a popcorny stag handle would be most appreciated.

:D

Excellent Matt. Had to be a great learning experience at Dan's shop.

Damn, that cracked me up. :)

Dan M. - welcome to the forums - you got skills dude - I want to see that tanto / zashi when it's done.

Thom - you're still first in line if there ever is a line. ;)

Roger

you're still first in line if there ever is a line.

I'm staking all hope of line formation on your desire to have your own BIII grinder and an ever-growing collection of must-have accessories (rotary platens, contact wheels from 1/2" to 20", replacement motors....).

Looks like a great time!!Nice job on the blades fellas:thumbup: Thanks Roger for making that stippling look so good, now I have to try it :)
