Big update this time. I figured I would start from the ground up so to speak and start with the base.
Got the base all laid out and welded.
Then the next day I came home to find these boxes waiting for me.
Inside was just about all I needed to finish the base
That night I prepped the base for all the goodies. And started thinking about the pump mount.
I cut the pump mount and used the plasma to cut out the big 3.25" hole.
Cant ask for a closer fit then this, especially with a plasma.
I drilled and tapped the pump mounting holes, crossing my fingers that thy where perfectly aligned because the pump boss only had about a .010 slip fit in the big hole.
It fit perfectly and a lock washer and a jamb nut later and the pump is mounted.
Pump and motor are mounted and just about perfectly aligned and the mount is tacked in place.
Tipped it up so i could weld the mount to the base. For some reason I cant get 7018 to lay a bead if its vertical on horizontal on the side. But straight down or upside down from underneath I have no problem.
The alignment looks quite nice.
From the side it looks good to. I made risers for the motor from 1.5" square 303 stainless.
Then it was time to bolt the casters onto the base so I can flip it over
I flipped it over and hot dam all the wheels touch the ground at once with no rocking.
I then made the tank brackets and welded them in place
Next I drilled the upper holes through the base using the holes in the brackets to guide the drill through the Ibeam.
BAM all the holes line up.
Looks good
From the front
And the back
Man this is solid and not something I want to flip over much any more.
