A week or so back, FortunateSon (Chuck Saunders) sold me his Busse-desert badger. He had stated that the knife was in "unused" condition. When I received it, it was in unacceptable shape, especially for the amount I paid. The coating is banged/scratched up and the edge looks like it was sharpened on a rock or something. Also, there's lots of dark grease in between the scales.

When I contacted Chuck about it, he replied that the edge came like that from the Busse shop (??) ya, rright. Also, when I asked for a refund, he had the nerve to claim that I probably damaged the knife:footinmou when I received it. (Although this dude is new here on BF, I trusted him but he's a scam)

Just exposing this individual so people are aware.

:(

I hope that you're able to work this out and get your money back.

Funny too that fortunateson's comment upon receipt was

"Just received mine. Balance is perfect and the pics don't do this one justice. Lightning fast shipping and a great price. Thanks!

and nothing about any damage whatsoever.

Hope you get this worked out man.

I've started asking for pics of knives before I'll buy them just because of situations like this.

It looks to me like he originally got that knife from forum member idahoskunk. I'm sure he could tell you what condition the edge was in when he sent it to FortunateSon. He described it as being in mint condition when he sold it and I have absolutely no doubt that it was in the condition described.

Thanks for letting me know that Keith.

No, guys. I didn't get my money back, he doesn't want to settle this issue and is an a**hole.

Although not directly related to this story, I once had somebody with a username of FortunateSon send me a Private Message, saying that he will buy a knife I had for sale. After replying with my mailing address, so that he could mail payment, I never heard from him again. I ended up passing up several really nice trade offers, while "Supposedly" he was mailing payment to me. I never did hear back and ended up selling the knife for less than what I first posted. Might not be the same person, but I imagine it is.

All I gotta say is, FortunateSon(if you're reading this), you reap what you sow, bud.

I sure hope he believes in the philosophy that a deal is never a deal until both parties are happy.

Should just refund your dough, no questions asked, period.

I hope this works out for the best and is resolved quickly. Reputations can be ruined quickly in situations such as this......................

I agree that both parties should be happy with a trade/sale. I hope he refunds your money. I did take a look at that thread and the pic of the Badger looks in really good condition due to the distance of the camara shot.
I can't see any scratches....etc....I wonder if he used it after he took the pic?

here we go again.... KomputerKop's evil twin???? If greens aint happy the deal aint a deal. If I was FortunateSon I would do either of the following
1. Refund money and have knife shipped back to me.
2. pay for shipping to Busse for complete refurbish and pay for refurbish
3. offer a mia culpa ( another knife at no charge)
4. ask seller to tell me what he (greens) thinks its worth and refund the difference.

many acceptable and honerable ways to settle this. The seller telling the buyer that he damaged the knife is about as new and refreshing a excuse as a 16 year old at the 7-11 trying to buy beer and "forgetting" his ID. THAT BULLSHIIT HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE FORTUNATEWANKER BONE UP THE CASH!!!!

FortunateSon's last post was on April 11. He logged in on April 12, hasn't since. I'm afraid we may never see him again. :(

but if you are not happy with the knife, I have the facilities to correct most problems, so I may be interested in buying it from you if the price is right.

Let me know,

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Try talking to the administration. If he enetered a credit card number to get a gold membership, they should be able to track him down. Best of luck.
