Ok, all of you get together and figure out what you want as a forum knife, what you want engraved on it, etc. and we will do a limited run just for RAT Pack members at a discounted price. This will be a one-shot deal since we don't like competing with our dealer network. Will NOT give a time frame on when these will be done but I figure sometime this year.

I will leave the rest of this up to Tony and Shotgunner to moderate. Yet another project. Damn, they need a raise!

Only rules I have on this project (that I can think of right now) are:

1) Has to be the same knife, same blade type, same handles, etc. In other words every knife is to be identical in every way except for the number that will be engraved on it (makes it easier on us and easier = less expensive).

2) We have final say on artwork since we have to re-draw the art for the laser format. If it is too detailed with a bunch of stuff going on in the art, forget it.

Other than that, yall fight it out in some type of structured format on what you want. This is gonna be a cluster f*ck :rolleyes: :D I can already see questions wanting to bend rules 1 and 2 above.
 
I'm stayin the hell outta this one.

ETA: I'm definitely interested in the knife, but Jeff's right about this turning into a big Charlie Foxtrot.

As far as the knife concept. I seems that we need to decide:

Which knife-Izula, RC3, RC4, RC5, RC6 or HEST
Artwork
Color(s)

I think it would be best to discuss this openly for the next few days so everyone can get there opinions and reasons in the open. After a set time a poll should go up to decide the knife to be used. Once this is decided the artwork could be looked at since it will be dependent on the size of blade used. Lastly the color, because I think it would be the smallest detail. But all of this is just my 2 cents. Discuss.
 
I'm not picky, and I truly appreciate the knife offer, so I will be happy with whatever the rest decide on as long as it is a black RC-4. :p
 
:D lets decide one thing at a time, maybe start a poll and vote for which knife and then decide colors and laser engraving.

Edit: Also sorry for the added head ache Jeff, but thanks for listening :D :thumbup:

While I'd love to see it based on the, as of now, nonexistent RChop,I think the RC3 is really the iconic RAT blade. IIRC most, if not all, the SWAT and "agency" knives have been based on the RC3. It also strikes the best balance of EDC easy of carrying, and "real handle" ease of use. For color, I really like the idea of the tiger stripe camo (alternating blend of the OD and black coatings is fine), with black linen scales and the mint green liners. With the full sheath options of the MIL, including the foliage sheath. Oh, and make it the plain pommel.

For artwork, what about the ESEE artwork

But replace the "EEES" with PACK. Put this in place of the usual logo. Where RC-3 usually goes, maybe a simple "#" followed by your RAT pack number? Do the engraving in gold.

Second choice would be the same in an RC4.

Third would be the same in an Izula (probably can't get the logo on the blade), but in place of the normal Izula serial number, put "RAT #" followed by your RAT Pack number.

I'd like to see an RC-3 as the forum knife. With a non-pointy pommel, micarta slabs, and no garish artwork on the blade please. Just a little "BFC '09" or something, to indicate what it is. And the RP# as well.
 
I vote for this idea. The blade would be perfect just as you describe it. That ESEE logo would look great burned into the handles. Kind of like the RYP grinning skull burned into the production H.E.S.T.'s handle.

Orange Izula... great color and affordable for more people who would like to be a part of something this cool!

And by changing that we're jacking the costs up for everyone. Has to be something we are already doing if we're only going to make a couple hundred of these. Keep it simple and the same and we will be good to go. ;)
