Be careful when drawing a khukuri -- or any knife for that matter -- from the scabbard. If done improperly or in a great hurry you can cut through the scabbard and if you are holding the scabbard in a grip that exposes your hand to the cutting edge you are in trouble!

I took my 15" AK down to a family gathering. I have one cousin whom I would trust with anything. I showed him how to draw the Kuhkuri from the scabbard once and he had it. My aunt wanted to look at the AK and I told her to get JR. to take it out for her. We are a knife loving family all the way around.
Watching a Cherokee woman fondleing a 15"AK Kuhkuri is a sight!

I guess the point I am trying to make is to either tell others how to properly draw the blade or do it for them. We have been warned and they haven't. I know it is simple,but the only way I happened to catch it was the way my cousn started to draw it. He immediately knew why!
