In the June, 2001 issue of KI, page 62, You will find a nice article on one of our own, Andrew McLurkin. Fittingly enough, the article is written by fellow forumite Dexter Ewing. It shows pictures of some of Andrew's extrordinary work. The photography is done by still another forumite, Terrill Hoffman. I am fortunate to own one of the knives pictured, the knife that won him the Best New Maker award at the S.E.Custom Knifemakers Show in September. It boggles the mind to look at the fit and finish of this knife, and then think about the fact that it was only the third folder he ever made! The guy starts out at a masters level and has only one way to go, and that is up! I hope you all get a chance to see the article and to hold one of Andrews knives in your hand some day. It will be a real treat

Thanks guys! My subscription copy hasn't arrived yet so I got one from the newsstand. They must still be using Pony Express in my neck of the woods

All I can say about the article is: VERY COOL!!! Thanks Dexter and Terrill.

Here is a link to two knives I just finished yesterday evening. A bit more current then the work in the article. Oh the power of BladeForums!

Also, congrats on your award Andrew!!
I can't believe that someone could make such quality knives with only such a small amount of actual knifemaking experience. That's just plain awesome!! You should do very well and I wish you continued success.
