Forums migrated, software updates, some features disabled

Thanks for all the hard work. I'm just gonna muddle along and post pictures as I figure it out. Already posted a picture using "Attach Files".

I'll try this one using Imgur

I just tried attaching a pict. of a knife and it worked!
Can I delete older attachments in large groups, so I don't run into the, "You have reached your maximum number of allowed attachments", again?

attachments is something that will be worked on behind the scenes. Quotas have not gone away but are temp disabled until we have a better handle on the new setup
 
I'm trying to upload .jpg attachments via PM and it's not working... converting my compressed .jpg's to "webp" files and pulling up blue bars.

Edit: I see that I'm not the only one.

Before the "too many attachments" issue with us being over our limits, I was downsizing my pics to 1200 x whatever size, copying an image and pasting it directly into the test box, which worked fine. Just tried that again and got an 'oops, too long' error message. I downsized it to 1000-by and it worked fine. I'll try one at 1100 and see how that works.

OK, here's one at 1100. I'll see what happens. Edit: that worked. T'would be nice if I didn't have to re-size older pics to use, but that's way preferable to having to use Imgur like I've been doing since the attachment limits had to be enforced. I'll see how this all develops and adjust as needed. but...

THANKS A TON TO SPARK FOR WORKING ALL THIS OUT AND TO THE MODS FOR PATIENTLY LISTENING TO ALL THE WHINING ALONG THE WAY!

Also, I gotta say that I wish some members hadn't preemptively deleted their older pics and wrecked a lot of threads, despite being advised to show a little patience while Spark put a solution in place

Thanks, Spark. Don't know why my 1200 x 519 didn't work. I'll fool around with it again tomorrow.

Also, I'm not much of a fan of Imgur or the extra steps needed to use outside photo hosting, but if that's what it would take to keep this place going, then that's fine by me. The interaction here, the pics, and information gleaned is as much a part of the hobby as the knives themselves and a bit more effort is no big deal.
 
Thanks Spark - I renewed my Platinum before the migration, because you deserve it!

I'd also pay more for more image storage on BF too!

Didn't know if you saw the IMGUR bug when pasting the link to a IMGUR post that sometimes the link doesn't parse when there is a "-" in the link name. The link after the "-" is left off, and so the people are directed to a different IMGUR picture.
