Forward lanyard hole BK9???

What size hole are you drilling?
It may not be the hardness of the knife, the bit may be flexing.
Try putting the bit deeper in the chuck.

Were they Swedish bits?

Tried everything from 1/18 to 1/4 ", put them all the way to the end of the chuck, no luck.

Think it may have been drillbits from all over, LOL, German, swedish, chinese, all the drillbits I could scramble together in my shop, flattened them all.....

The old Blackjack BK5 had a hole is that something like what you're thinking about? Probably closer to the back edge of the knife instead of the blade side though, I'd imagine.

that particular hole is for the pin-lock sheath - there's an actual metal pin that goes through the knife and locks it into the sheath. sweet.

i've seen a Cammy model someone did that to as a mod, and used an old sheath. cute, but not original.
