Fossil beaver tooth is from the Yukon river and about 40,000 years old , when beaver weighed 700 pounds. This is a huge 4 inch long 1 inch wide intact tooth. Fossil walrus ivory is well pinned with blade going through ivory and tooth . Custom bronze guard. Cabin and spruce tree acid etching. $675

Best way to buy is from the shop cart on my web site http://www.milesofalaska.net/Custom_knives/index.html it's the last item bottom of the page. Or post me with other arrangements.

I chuckle. I'm a senior now. Since I was a kid I was scrounging stuff off the side of the road, the dump, and no one knew what to do with me. Who'd think there'd be an occupation in it! I now sometimes get called on to do identifications for museums, asked to spot fakes, do appraisals and restorations around the world.

Oddly as well, I rarely use my best materials on my own projects, but sell my best raw to others. I use what no one else wants. This beaver tooth was considered too short by anyone I offered it to so I just added to the length with the walrus ivory. I had it for over 5 years. I prefer to think I get paid for the ideas and my work and not as much for the material. I hope it gives others ideas for what can be done. Thanks for the compliment.
