Here is a Caper or skinner in ancient fossil walrus ivory. The ivory was collected by native Alaskan Inuit indians on private native land in St. Lawrence, Alaska. Est. age is est. is between 1000 to 2000 years old. Blade length is 3 1/2 inches and overall is 8 inches. Sterling ferrule and nickel silver fittings my Damascus made with nickel plated ball bearings (52100 steel Great edge retention). It is razor sharp and a wicked point. Comes with the sheath pictured.The handle is solid and out of the ground for 22 months and stable. This one is "SOLD SOLD" plus 8.00 priority mail. fishface5 blade is over 3/16 inch thick with taper to tip at about midway. NOLASOLEIL it's yours and thank you.
 
They are not "indians". They are Siberian Yupik eskimos! St. Lawrence is an ISLAND! Not a town. There are 2 towns on the island.........Savoonga and Gambell.
Nice piece of ivory and nice work on it.
 
Beautiful work, Dan. I was slow to the draw on this one, but one of your knives will be in my collection in the near future.
