Fossil Walrus ivory
Fossil walrus ivory from Savoonga Alaska . Weighs 7 ounces. Is 4 inches long x 2 ¼ wide at base tapering to just under 2 at narrow end. 3/4 to 1 inch thick. Solid except the butt end is near base of tusk so has slight hollow dips, so if being cut for scales it will work but needs to worth around this last ½ inch. If hidden tang no issues. Feels good in the hand as is cold be a single handle for big knife. But would make nice guards spacers as well. Has some hints of soft blue I think go deep. I believe the best colors have yet to be brought out. I did not want to sand this deep. This might work for pistol grips. R fwi 7oz 711 is the order code if inquiring. $150

another piece below

Fossil walrus ivory from Savoonga Alaska . Weighs 11 ounces . This is 4 inches long x 2 ½ wide, and just over an inch uniform thick. Solid material. Might work for pistol grips. Will cut nice for scales or carveable for spacers guards pommels etc. Difficult to know what colors might be inside, but a nice streak of red blue tan on outside that might continue beneath the surface around the core. R fwi 110z 711 is the order code if inquiring. $150
