Found a Bolo

Aardvark Hey, Stevo, what's your local source of bolos, if you don't mind sharing? If you don't want to post it, I'd appreciate an email. I'm a big fan of them. Thanks.

Cool link. The bottom one is my bolo. I found it on e-bay though, at a substantially lower price than listed on this page. I suspect the seller ( a very nice fellow ) had to move some stock.

There is a good description of how to make cordage w/picts in "Outdoor Survival Skills" by Larry Dean Olsen.
I spent a lot of time with that book when I was a kid. I remember my dad saying something along the lines of "take your pocketknife, your magnifying glass, and your book and scram on out of the house." I had fun making fires with the glass, and lots of stuff with the knife. I figured with those tools and Olsen's book I had everything I needed. It was only later that I discovered girls and found out how very wrong I was.

I noticed that HI has a bolo listed in its "special run" index. It looks pretty sweet.

I looked but I did not see.

On Dec. third a poster that many of us know from past years posted again after a long absence. I didn't even make the connection until he explicitly announced himself a couple of months later.

It's good for me to have these things pointed out to me every so often.
