Found A New Place !!!

Explain more about the cedar thing.
Look under Cedar Trees at the link:

Natives on the NW coast used the inner cedar bark like many other cultures would use wool or other fiber: weaving clothing, mats & covers, as fringe on ceremonial objects & masks, etc.

After removing the slab of bark from the tree, the inner bark was removed and wound into a bundle, which was taken back to the village.

Harvesting the inner bark was not hard from what I've heard. The hard part was shredding it into fine strands. One way to shred was to strike with a blunt edge a sheet of the inner bark that was draped over an edge.

A good book to read that outlines the uses of cedar by the NW coast Natives (who called it The Tree Of Life due to its pervasive importance in their lives) is "Cedar" by Hilary Stewart. Your local library may have a copy to check out.

Great pics as always and a nice looking dog!

As a heavily armed BCer, I would like to say, yes, we are allowed to own guns. I do a lot of shooting with M14s, 1911s, and various other long guns and hand guns. I shoot with guys who mainly shoot AR15s, although some are now into those appallingly ugly PS90s and Tavors, and they tend to favour Glocks for handguns.

You may own guns for self defense, but the law gets a little complicated out at that end. Full auto is not easy anymore, nor are compact handguns. But if all you were worried about is some Ruger hunting rifles, then you have nothing at all to worry about.

For the last ten days I've been up in that region (Olympic NP) and I would love to live up their. Especially with free healthcare;). Great pics like always!
