Found a TriBox on my porch

Congratulations Wolf. It is an impressive hunk 'o' steel indeed. If you wouldn't mind letting us know what you think about it after giving it some use, it would be appreciated. I haven't even had a chance to work mine yet. Have fun!!

What do I think of it?? I love this thing!

It had a serviceable edge on it out of the box. Didn't take much work to turn it into a razor. Wicked scary sharp.


The targets I tried it on are (were :D) an old styrofoam archery block and some vines. Tirtha got the balance absolutely right on. It flows gracefully and quickly through slashing and hacking attacks. It is indeed like a shortened chinese dadao sword. Slicing power is good. Cleaving power is nothing short of amazing. Groovy.

I like the villager finish on it. IMO this model wouldn't look right all prettied up with a mirror or satin finish. The rough black forged finish suits it perfectly.

There's no what if's with this one. It is absolutely perfect the way it is.


The scabbard is nice. I like the reddish brown color. I found it draws better for me if I wear it backwards; the curve of the blade draws better that way. I took the snap loop off though as it was too loose and really unnecessary anyway.

I'm so impressed with it that I sent Ms Yangdu an email in praise of Kami Tirtha.

The only problem with something like the Farm Knife is that the Zombie Apocalypse won't get here fast enough. :cool:

The "Farm Knife" should not be a special run item. It should be a standard item in H.I.'s inventory. Everyone needs one of these.
 
Great pic! I can see how the farm knife and AK are along a similar vein. Both rough and ready. I keep putting off a farm knife purchase but I can see I'll have jump on one soon. Nice review.

Thanks for the insight into its dynamics ... I wonder how it compares to the Farmcata ... trying to decide between the two of them (and it can be only one) has been difficult up to this time but I'm now favouring the Farm Knife.:confused:

Yeah I wanted to take a pic of it with a firearm. I looked over my arsenal and thought of which firearm would best compliment the Farm Knife.

It seemed to me that the Farm Knife has a sort of southeast asian guerilla warrior aura, but it also felt a little bit middle eastern... so I picked one of my AK's. Actually my favorite AK: Miss Maadi.

Did a little more hacking with with the FK today. Very impressive.

Both the Farm Knife and the Avtomat Kalashnikov are tools no good peasant should be without!

Not offensive at all! The True Villager™ finish gives it that simple rugged 'peasant' look. Nothing fancy, ALL business.

The edge bevels are rather thin compared to a khukri. But no more so than most of our western survival knives. In fact I think the edge is a little more substantial than that on my Camillus "KaBar" clone. So it doesn't have a khukri's axe-like edge. It doesnt have a percussive hit. But man oh man can this thing slice and slash and bite DEEP. It's like a weaponized meat cleaver. I'm really digging it.
 
Awesome looking knife and I am always watching DOTD to find one that hasnt been snatched up yet :(
