Found an HB Axe Head

Hi guys,

Between work and fishing, I've got a bit of work done to the axe.

First thing I did was chop 2" off the handle due to this chip

So it's about 26" now

I've only been trying to slim between the blue lines

To compensate for losing the swell at the end, I roughly Dremel'd a notch and wrapped it with a leather lace. Without the notch I found the wrapped leather just wanted to slide around.

NOTE: That's just a test wrap with the leather lace, not the final.

Obviously not done yet, but it's starting to come together a bit and feels better already.

Thanks everyone for the advice and tips :)

Cory

That's not a bad idea - doing something to make up for the lack of swell. I've often wrapped friction tape around hafts with small swells. It helps.
