We have an area here that we call the boneyard. It is where we put cutoffs and pieces we are not sure what to do with them. Walking around yesterday I spotted this piece. It was cut from a tree that had broken off at the trunk but continued to grow.

Looks like the injury caused some unusual coloring in this piece of maple. Should be some good curly figure too.

Now I am going to cut and sand this to see what we really have here.
More photos to come shortly.

Looks pretty good after it is cut and sanded. Myself, I like the unusual natural occurring colors.

The top two on the right look really good. How much do you think you're going to price these at?

I just posted them in the supplies forum at $100 for the whole batch including shipping. I was just curious when I cut it up so I'm cheap selling them as a batch.

Shoot, that's a little more than I can spend right now.

On a side note, do you expect any buckeye burl coming in soon? I'm working on some plans for a knife for my father, probably going to be my 4th or 5th knife, so there's no rush.
