Some people like yard work. Not me. However if this happened more often I may change my mind. I was mowing the grass this morning and found this laying in the grass

I can't make out the tang stamp but I can just see featherlight and Utica NY

Really nice find, if I knew there could be a beauty like that lurking in the grass, I might do some yardwork myself, haha...

Congrats, and enjoy your newly found friend...

Never seen it before and can not imagine how it got where it was about 10 meters from the road in the middle of my front yard.

I would take that as a sign from a higher power ;). I mean how often does a great looking knife find a knife nut?

It looks like it may have bounced off the road one bolster is skuffed other than that seems pretty nice

Someone really bummed out when they found out it was missing. Maybe I'll put an ad in the lost and founds in the paper. Long shot but I'd want it back if I lost it.

I have a Utica Featherweight patent applied for unofficial Girl Scout knife (or maybe the GS stands for grand sachem). I just assumed it was Utica Cutlery Co, but now that you mention it, it doesn't say so.
It is very light, with all the metal but the blades and spring apparently being aluminum.
By the way, I'd never seen one, except a busted-up version for 12 bucks or something. I got mine for 18, then looked it up on the auction site. They've gone for anything from 3.50 to 7.25.
Yours is prettier than mine though, and what a find in your own lawn!

Could'a been used in a stabbing and thrown into your yard during the getaway:eek:

I live in Owensboro Ky I think we had a stabbing here once. I mean surely someone has stabbed someone but maybe not they don't call it the big "O" for nothing. Nothing ever happens here, lol I've never even locked my door. It's funny sometimes, my family owns a restaurant, the Moonlite BBQ INN, a lot of people from out of town eat there. You can tell they are not from here when they hit the alarm button and lock their cars. I just laugh and tell them that's my vette over there with the top down and the keys are in it.

Sounds like someone put it on the roof of their car and forgot it. I bet there were some non-traditional words spoken when he realized what he'd done.

Just what I thought Mack. Or maybe it is just the start of A Plague of Knives Paul! :D

Not an everyday knife you would find that someone had lost, interesting. Usually it's cheap junk or SAK's or something newer. Someone is bummin'.

That's nice that you're making an effort to get it back to the owner. Knife Karma will surely pay you back down the road...

I was thinking along the same lines. Not a regular knife you'd find. These are the ones that hurt the most when you lose them. I don't think it's worth much money but I'd be willing to bet that it had real sentimental value, why else would someone carry this particular knife. I feel like it was someone's dads knife. ( of course it was someone's dads but you know what I mean). I am also thinking that it should not be that hard to find the owner since the knife is so unique and my town is small. I can tell you what most guys in town are carrying with a fairly high degree of accuracy. I can eliminate most everyone I know personally as I would have remembered a knife this unique.

Sounds worth a shot at trying to find the owner Paul, as Glenn said Knife Karma will surely pay you back :)

Hey, that's cool! And even cooler that you're considering an attempt to reunite it with its owner. Maybe post a little cardboard sign by the road, "Lost something small? Give me a call!" ;)
