Found knife

Interesting find, Paul. Maybe this "yard" stuff has something to it!

Hey, that's cool! And even cooler that you're considering an attempt to reunite it with its owner. Maybe post a little cardboard sign by the road, "Lost something small? Give me a call!" ;)

You crack me up. I don't even want to imagine people might come looking for!

The knife is unique enough, with such distinct details, posting "Found: pocket knife" and asking those who respond for a description would be sufficient-- if less fun. ;)

That's a great idea! it might even work. Why didn't I think of that. Much better odds than the paper I would think. I'll go make a sign now.

I made the sign " lost something small give me a call" went outside to post it and this guy was driving real slow so I held up the sign. His name is David, he just bought a house about a km or so down the road. The knife was his fathers and according to David the only thing he had of his dads. Let me tell you, I have never seen anyone so happy to have a knife back! He said he didn't think he would ever see it again but he had to look. The odds of losing a knife and finding it again are low. The odds of meeting a cool new knife buddy cause he lost a knife you found and didn't know the owner have to be very small. We are going fishing later today and that's just cool.

Well this story has a happy ending. Good on you Paul for making the effort. Enjoy the telling of tails this afternoon ;)

That is so great.

I'm really happy for both of you.

Well-done, you! :)

I believe that qualifies as "Post of the Month"!

What were the odds of him passing by just as you were posting the sign? Outstandingly amazing.

TOTALLY AWESOME THREAD!

So you not only found a knife, but a friend - the one thing even better than a knife :D
You did real good making the effort to give it back.

What a great ending to this lost knife story, Paul. I can only imagine how grateful your new friend is, to have been reunited with that keepsake.
