found my first blood dvd, cant stop watching it, so i made plans for a knife!

ok im thinking about maybe a full tang knife with hallowed out scales, and a big wide slot taken out of the tang for storage. it will be held together with some kind of nut and bolt. ive seen a randall knife made like this and ive heard of the method being used on becker knives. the one thing thats getting to me is what if i lose the alan wrench or screwdriver? any better ways to hold the scales on? opinions, and ideas please.

http://movieknives.com/ this is my everlasting inspiration. this guy has a gigantic collectuion of REAL LILE KNIVES!!! i just dropped him and email about buying my untied cutlery and asking how much he wants for a LILE. im still making mine though, a LILE is too nice to use.hes got a ton of pictures of model variants and commemorative models, even conceptual model knives!!!

ouch!!! just got a reply from rick mccracken he said his knives go for about $1500 a piece!!! i was thinking more like $500 but the knives are famous, tough, and lile has died, so he cant exactly make more, so i can understand. im suprised a custom maker hasnt continued his work. maybe ill be that maker, depending how this first one turns out.

If your referring to the Randall 17 Astro model as the type "hollow" handle you are going to attempt.I would suggest regular slot head screws/chicago style. If you don't have a screwdriver,a coin or pocket knife blade should beable to disassemble the storage handles.Good Luck, and those Lile knives are awsome you linked too!
