WAY back in 1987 I was working for a company that made a lot of stuff that was weird to a lot of us in the shop...
The metal weighed almost nothing and the plastics we were applying were of the sort we had never seen before.
The metal was LIGHT and VERY hard to work with our tooling...
The "plastic" we were working with for this project made some sick when they machined it, and most all of us hated to be around when the girls were "finishing" the boxes we were fabricating out of this strange metal and plastic.
One afternoon one of the "old pharts" in the shop came over and showed some of us a knife he had made out of the "ultra light metal" and the strange plastic...
Of course all of us younguns in the shop jumped at the chance to make a knife!
I know now that the blade is more than likely titanium (I think) and the handle is a first phase of G-10 (?) or something of the sort...
NO HT or anything else, and we wondered why we couldn't keep an edge!
She isn't pretty, but she is my first.... Oh, BTW, the entire knife weighs in at just under 2.5 ounces...
Now I just hope the guy in dark suits and sunglasses don't come in search of!
