Found out my stepbrother has been stealing my knives

Do you think he would go so far as to try to open one of those $50 fire safes that Joe58 mentioned? If not, I would just go with one of those. You could store some of your important paperwork in it, too, to keep it safe from fire.

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely upset about it. In fact, I was nothing short of livid when I first found out. Before anything else though, I want to prevent it from happening again. Then I'll deal with the current situation. Acting rashly tends to make things worse, so I am going to wait and calm myself properly before moving forward.

Excellent way to conduct yourself, it'll serve you well in life and reward you very well.

I think you should conduct yourself like your screen name implies. Take a little time to make a well educated Dr Jekyll decision and then Mr. Hyde his ass all over the front lawn for all to see - thievery is unacceptable and you NEVER WRONG FAMILY !
He might need a refresher on some basic code of conduct issues at the end of your knuckles.

Of course if you decide to move on without beating him down I commend you for your good nature and restraint, your a better man than I.

I love the Griptilian but you said cheap so I'd suggest any of the lower cost Spyderco's and Kershaw's- they deliver a TON of knife for the money. The new ZT/Emerson alliance knives should be well worth the $40 as well. If your budget allows the Benchmade 710 is an excellent knife.

Oh, make a solid fist. It'd be really embarrassing to you and a victory for him if you break a hand/finger beating his ass.

Your losses aren't really significant as far as I'm concerned. I'd get another Buck and something else. Why buy one when you can buy two?

I would have a good "chat" with the step brother. Stealing is never allowed. Get him a knife for Christmas perhaps and tell him to stay the hell away from "my stuff".
