Well I finaly found some land, beutiful and not to teribly expensive, though I'll definatly be in the poor house while paying for it and building a house and shop!

I was begining to think I'd never find what I was looking for. 28.5 acers of mostly open land with a stream on one corner and enough trees on and around for plenty of deer. even got a nice huge bluff at one end for a backstop for a one man rifle range! In a good neighborhood at that!

I can't tell you what a relief it is, now maybe I can start on my dream shop and get out of my father's wood working shop!

Congratulations, Will! That would be a dream for me as well. I only have 2 acres where I am, but its all wooded, and quite private from the nearest neighbors. My dream has always been to get a lot that is 15-20 acres, and then I might be able to have a bigger barn and all that. Grats to you! Ya done good! :p

Only a couple things would improve on that. One, if it bordered a nice big lake, and also if Hugh Hefner lived next door.

That's wonderful Will,,

It's my dream to get my butt down to North Ga and buy a nice piece of land and build . One day :p

That is wonderful Will. I have 10 and wish it was a lot more. It was nice and private when I built but neighbors keep closing in.

Mark....you keep talkin' bout it....ever gonna happen? :p

Congrats, Will!

I'm on the hunt for a 2-5 acre piece myself. Yes, 30-40 would be nice someday, but maybe better when I have kids old enough to "help"....well, at least pretend like they're helpin'...:D

I think you are on to something there! Hey Will, now we got us a spot for a Knifemaker's Jamboree!!! I can see it now...

Knifemakers from all over the world come to your place to meet and forge and grind and eat IG's hot sauce, and oogle girls in wet T-shirts! It'll be another Sturgis! It'll be the NEW Grateful Dead tour! It'll be...

BLADESTOCK!!!!

Thats great! I'm ready to scale down, the 5 acres I have now is more than what I care to deal with anymore. By all means if you have a chance to pick up a tractor get it. Wish you the best!

 Bladestock

you are one crazy puppy, Jeff....:D

:p

heckuva good idea, though....wonder what IG would say.... :D

Congrats. I think I'd like to do the same thing. However, around Seattle it means 40min commute, or being a multimillionaire..... And I like Seattle.

Thanks guys, I sign the papers to close the deal tomorrow and I can't wait.

It's acutualy a little bigger than what I was looking for, but I can't pass it up at the price and location. 20 minits from a mid sized town and an hour from anywhere. I was looking for 10-15 acers, but after a couple years of looking it was beginning to look like I'd never find something.

I plan on keeping a yard and road up and letting the rest grow up, there are pines planted so if they can grow in the sandy soil I'll let them grow.

It'll take about a year, maybe longer, to get the shop built, but when it's done, a Hammer In sounds great! Bladestock here we come! I don't know how close everyone is but y'all be more than welcome to drop by, just have to keep the wet T-shirt contest behind a privacy fence, it's a quiet neborhood :D . How 'bout this, when I get the shop/appartment finished and move in a bunch of us get together for a housewarming/hammer-in/low key party?(in case your wondering I'm dancing a jig as we speak!)

hear that, guys?! let's get him while he's in a good mood...:D

Hammer-In at Will's, one year from now.:D If I save $1 per day, I think I'll have enough to make it....:( :p

Okay here's the plan:

IG: You are in charge of the bulldozing.

Dan: You are in charge of designing and making the Bladesmithing Pavillion - of course it'll just HAVE to be in the shape of a pendentive...

Joss: Since you are from Seattle, you bring the coffee.

Danbo: You are in charge of damming up the stream to make that lake you wanted.

Roger and Mete: You guys are in charge of appropriating funds to build the
Physics and Heat-Treating Annex (also in the shape of a pendentive).

Sweany, Peter, and Mike H: You guys are in charge of refreshments.

Me and Will: I drink the refreshments, and offer advice on the quality, consistency, and temperature of said beverages. Will, its your place, so naturally, you gotta run the grill!

Anyone else care to jump in?

sheesh...pendentive twice in the same paragraph....are you sure you're not a doctoral candidate or somethin'?!?

 :D

Me: Alright! A wet T-shirt contest!!!..

Wife: All those guys in wet t-shirts? nah......
