Found something this morning...

The knife-snob haters sound a lot like the just-as-good haters. How about let's just not hate and get back to sharing stories about our experiences with various knives.

The Gerber Paraframe costs roughly $20. I can think of several knives to buy for that price (or less) that would work better for nearly every knife task needed. I hope everyone reading this thread learns that fact alone because like me, they might be on a budget and want value for the money they spend.

Thank you, everyone's going back and forth with each other and turning this guys thread into a court house I'm sure it upsets him more that this isn't even his thread anymore than our opinions on his knife

^^I concur. We all have to start somewhere. I carried an sak as my only knife until I was 17. I bought a couple of crappy knives and then one day (at the mall of all places) I found a SOG Pentagon Elite (pre arc lock) for $35 because the store was going out of business. From there, I entered into the world of nicer knives.

We're all knife knuts here, lets be friendly and offer honest constructive opinions no matter what the knife is. Many of us see Gerber knives as not being worth a ____, but regardless this guy obviously is sentimental about this knife, so you shouldn't downgrade him for it. A crap knife is still better than no knife.

I would rather tell him my HONEST opinion on it, than lie to him and tell him its fantastic.

I drive an old, partially restored, somewhat beat-up truck that alot of people pick on. (see my "location" :))
I dont care, I still love it.
If he really likes it, our opinions wont matter.

Gerber wouldnt be a huge, sucessful business if nobody liked them.
We need to face the facts. Not everyone spends hundreds on knives like us. Everytime I go to the "knife area", people are checking out the Gerbers.
I dont jump up and say: "Stop looking at them! They suck!"
But if they asked me what I thought, I would tell them.
