Found Wanting Winner: hoodtube12

Not an entry but a thanks for your generosity! Great idea for your GAW and great to read all the stories of kindness. Well done everyone.

Not an entry, since I recently won a fabulous GEC 77 Barlow in a GAW, so I'm double ineligible! :D
But thanks for running this marvelous GAW, Jeff, and good luck to all the entrants!
I'm enjoying all the stories of helpful giving!

Great giveaway. Obviously not an entry, but I'd like to wish all the newbies to GECs good luck as well as all the unlucky!! Good luck everyone.

"just now updating my knife spreadsheet" Man, I'm such a rookie.....still!!!
:D:D:D

I feel your pain, Randy! I DO have a spreadsheet (with multiple pages for multiple purposes), but it's so out of date that it's virtually useless! :(

Thanks for the chance, that is a wonderful looking knife. I own a couple GEC's, but have never won a GAW on BF. A large part of my collection focus on the old NKCA youth knives. One thing that comes to mind is that when the NKCA was nearing it's demise, they kept asking for $ donations. I wasn't able to help them in that aspect, but I did voluntarily come up with an idea to help them, by updating their website to include a photo and info about every knife that the NKCA or NKM had ever had made. It took the better part of a month to research and create all the images and info. I wished that it could have been more helpful, but I didn't have the money to give. Less than a year later, they closed shop completely.

Great GAW idea Jeff :) Not an entry please, just wanted to post to thank you for everything you do here  Good luck everyone

What a great giveaway not an entry but good luck and like reading the stories!

Not an entry, as Muskrats don't really do it for me, but this is a great theme for a giveaway. Great stories, good luck to all who enter and thanks to the OP for making it possible.

This is rather last minute, and for that I apologize. I initially was not going to enter but after seeing the many non-entries, I figured I would throw my name in the hat. Giveaways are fun when the entrants are enthusiastic and many. I have not won a giveaway here in my short time being a part of the forums so I suppose that is my qualifier. However, I do own a GEC due to the generosity of another member here. It also happens to be a #53, which I have actually become a bit of a fan of, I use it every day. As I have a #53 already, though it is of a different configuration, and if I happen to be fortunate enough to win this fine giveaway, I will conduct a giveaway myself to pay it forward in a sense.

In terms of what my contributions to society in general are: I spent several years as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for my local Sheriff's Office. This is strictly a volunteer position and requires a considerable amount of time for training, patrol, and other related activities. As I did not get paid for my service, I kept a regular full time job and mostly volunteered nights and weekends. For those of you who have experience in law enforcement, you know how tough a job this can be and is much of the time. This isn't about chasing bad guys all the time, this isn't about drawing down on armed thugs, this isn't about getting into wrestling matches with drug crazed fiends. Though those things often occur, you spend much of the time finding missing kids, removing children from compromising households, helping homeless find shelter and resources, getting intoxicated drivers off the road, and so many other things that police officers and deputies never get recognized for. It is an awful job but it has its rewards.

For those of you who still work in a law enforcement or first-responder capacity or have so in the past, thank you for your service.

Wonderful giveaway, Jeff! Not an entry, as I have plenty of GEC's and have won a giveaway before, but good luck to all the entrants!

Well, it's Monday afternoon, and the contest is over. Thanks for all the nice stories of kindness, generosity and service.

There were only 11 entries, and the random number generator picked 9: hoodtube12

I've sent an email to the winner and just awaiting an address to ship the prize. Thanks again to all who responded!

Congrats hoodtube12! If that #53 is anything like the one I am using, its a fine knife. I hope that it turns out to be an excellent introduction for you. Thank you black mamba (Jeff), for an excellent giveaway.

Incredible! This is such a generous giveaway and I can't wait to finally own a GEC. Jeff, I truly thank you.

Matt

Congratulations Matt, a great pattern to start with. Mamba great GAW, the rules for this one were well thought out. More generosity! Man it just keeps rolling!
