I'm wondering if we will see that unless you know something I don't. Nice knife. I like mine but I figure if they put another steel on it, it will lose it's economical price which was the target for the knife in the first place. I would grab one though. :)

Have you thought about a Sage 1? Pretty close in size and shape with CPM S30V. Or you could always go with a Gayle Bradley. It's a real beast.
 
Oh! I want that Siru but have to resist myself. I need to wait until the Customs gets sleepy again. They have been awake recently.
 
Email sent on the 15" sirupati. I hope it's still available. If it is, I can't believe it lasted this long. I've been watching these dod's for a few weeks now and these always go very fast. This will be my first kuk if I get it! Exactly what I was looking for.
 
Great first khuk. I was very tempted myself. For me the 15" size is just about perfect. The weight on this one was very good.
 
I don't know who wound up getting the Sirupati, but Welcome to you both bennyb and MacMarine. It's always good to see new names pop up on the Forum. And if you didn't get this one, just wait a while and a khukuri will find you.
 
Thanks for the welcome Stickfred! I'm new to the khukuri world so I've been somewhat of a "lurker" here on the forum trying to learn more about them by reading others' posts.
It looks like Bennyb should be the fortunate one this time (as he posted about 45 minutes before me). I didn't see his email until after I posted my bid. Sorry 'bout that Bennyb.
 
I was thinking bennyb had it too but sometimes someone stealth sharks them without posting here; so it's hard to say.
 
Forgive my ignorance...not sure what "stealth sharking" is. If for some strange reason Yangdu says the suri is mine, I'll graciously relinquish the blade to Bennyb. I'm all about what's fair and playing by the rules.
 
I wasn't suggesting you were a stealth shark. The term applies to someone who sees the DOTD and sends Auntie Yangdu an e-mail and then doesn't post here so the rest of us still think it is available. There isn't any rules saying not to do it but most people here think it is proper etiquette to post any sharking attempt. I've tried to shark lots of DOTDs some successful some not; but I always posted that I had sent the e-mail. You may get lucky as sometimes Auntie has another one that she will sell for the same price; I believe it has happened to me twice. Good luck. The Sirupatis are quite common so I'm sure you will get opportunities.
 
Welcome MacMarine!! I'm kinda new to HI too. It took me about a month to get my first one but boy was it worth it. I actually got so impatient trying to land a DOTD that I bought one somewhere else while I was waiting. It's okay but it just doesn't match the quality and care of HI.

If you didn't get this one there will be others. Many others. Yangdu posts them sometimes daily so you will get a chance. Good luck and happy sharking! :D

Liveitloud: Thanks for the welcome! I've bought a couple khuks in the past; an 18" AK and most recently, the Pen knife. I just happened to see that Sirupati and I figured "what the heck". Your right, I'll end up with one sooner or later.

Cool; since you weren't familiar with the term I was afraid you thought I was accusing you of trying to "shark" it away from bennyb. I like Sirupatis quite a bit. I just recently got a Pen knife and really like it.
