Four blems for 10/17

The Siru arrived today. I came home from class saying to myself "triangle box, triangle box" in hopes it would be there. I saw it from the street and ran up the steps to get it. Very nice work by Lachhu. It was a lot thicker than I expected, but it made very short work of the box it came in.

I live in the city and with no bushes or such to destroy, at least not without getting into some trouble. So the first thing I can usually get my hands on is the triangle box, and then the paper the kukri was packed in. It shredded that nicely too.

I save my boxes to go into my presidential museum someday. Nothing else is safe but the boxes are sacred.

I'm finding the grip a little bit slippery when sweaty. I may at some point send this over to have your fine hands work over it and give it some checkering/

You removed that nasty ole curse and we'll talk about it.

Khuk handles can be a bit tricky to checker properly but I've pulled off a couple.

I filled the cracks in my siru's horn handle with superglue, and then sanded it down with 400 grit after the glue dried. The matte 400 grit surface gives such a good grip, I don't think I'll ever polish it back out, and just leave it the way it is as a user handle.

Well, I'd like to, but you see... the curse has taken on a life of its own, literally. It seems that it took some of my soul and some of yours and created a body for itself. So congratulations, we're parents. Not how you expected that to happen, now is it?

Mopar: that sounds like a good idea. I may just give it a try.

Does this mean we're Lebanese? If that sanding don't cut it we'll put the children to bed and checker.

I've done the sanding myself and it does work good. Not quite as classy as checkering but also much easier on the hand especially on a user. I think you want that handle to move in your hand some. Like a Single Action Army, you want to let it roll.

Hey gang, I just got the bowie I scored off this DOD. Just hit my desk.

It's really not bad at all, quite good actually. I thought from the description that there might be some work involved that I actually looked forward too. The blade is really good and only some easy handle touch up to be near perfect.

Auntie still has a bunch of these longer handled models on hand so if your on the fence I'd say get off the fence and run don't walk to the send me a bowie button.

I think one of my detective coworkers is gonna steal this one from me so I'll have to dive back in for another one.

Well that didn't last long. Detective took one look and said EMS sent, so reluctantly I had to say "Done Deal". I took a slight loss on it (said he'd come up with the rest) but he's happy, I'm semi happy and very happy that I know where I can get another one.

Maybe I could quit my day job and become HI Outside Sales?

That would be cool huh?

Just got to check out the Ang Khola and it is fantastic! It arrived monday but I have been out of town all week so could not see it until today. Thank you Yangdu for the fantastic deal on a fantastic knife!
