To help the OP explain. A Skookum is like a Turley. There are two ways to get one. Pay big bucks for one on the Seconday market. Or take a ticket and wait in line. Usually many years. It is not the difficulty of the knife that takes the time. It is the amount of people in front of you. A small shop has a tough time handling the explosion of business when someone like Mors Kochanski says Wow! I really like this Skookum Bush Tool.
The shop owner, knife builder, has two options take them as they come. Do them him of her self and keep the quality high. Or start hiring other folks to do the labor. That usually brings with it, a drop in quality. At least initially.
You can get a lot of knives tomorrow or next week. But the fact remains they won't be a "Skookum Bush Tool"
I myself ordered a Forest today. Just to try the design. I liked the OPs blade so much I thought I would experiment a bit before actually seeking out an "Authentic Skookum" which the Forest is not. It will most likely be here by the end of the week. Guess what? It looks just like the Skookum. But it "IS NOT' a Skookum. Nor will it ever be.
Yes you can have a Mora, or another knife sooner, cheaper and easier. But I see no reason to pee all over a thread where the OP is happy and wanting to share his new knife here.
A skookum is again just like a Turley. If the OP decides it's not for him, he can sell it, and double his money in six months. Try that with a More or a even a Forest.
What happened to saying wow, that is a really nice knife. Good luck with it and use it in good health.
Why does it seem folks always have to pee in other folks cheerios these days?
YMMV,
