Haven't heard anything about the Foxfire books since I've joined the forums. I've only been a member since January so they may have been talked about. Anyone have any favorite articles in these books? I particularly enjoy the one about bear hunting and birdtraps, deadfalls and rabbit boxes. I especially like the fact that surviving was a part of the everyday lives of the people in these books. In some senses a different kind of survival. Simply using/saving/salvaging everything that you have to make it through daily life, scrap metal to make kitchen knives for example. Awesome books!

The foxfire books are part of my little " back woods" library. My favorite articles are the ones about butchering, gardening, and preserving food. Some of the pictures are priceless. joe

I own the first two of them, I read all of them in the 80s.

Excellent stuff with some countrified filler... :)

Great reads if you like to pass the time on your porch with such IME. I had about ten of the volumes then lost them all when I was living down in Florida during the year of the four storms. Need to find them used....
