Us sailors don't mind the brass and as for the habaki...well, I'm happy to report that it doesn't seem to have much of a bearing on performance in the field. I will say that I have a preference for steel and non-habaki; traditional bolsters are more pleasing to the eye and steel tolerates abuse better. Tolerating abuse is what I'm all about.
Hardheart, if there are any extras or blems - and I'm quite sure that there will be some - keep your eyes open as Yvsa advised. If the rest are anything like mine, this is the khukuri to have.
