Frame lock for a lefty

I wish I could understand, I have been playing with frame locks from the beginning and even though my left thumb has no bend, I can open and close them equally well with either hand.

Not all liner locks work as well left as right, but most of those I have tried do.

I am left handed, and I totally agree. I can close a knife one-handed with a standard frame or liner lock just as easily with either hand. In fact, I don't need a left handed knife at all. What I do need is to have an adequate cut-away on the left thumb side of the frame to access the opening hole or stud, and a tip down clip.

LionSteel knives are perfect examples of this. My SR1 is entirely adequate for left-handed operation. My TiSpine is useless for left handed opening.

I just do not like the way most right handed knives carry via clip, in my left front pocket. A lot of right handed knives carried on the left, interfere with your hand more when fishing in the pocket bottom for other things. Maybe it's just me? I am not talking about knives with multiple clip mounting points. For instance, try carrying any of the larger Cold Steel knives, with only clip mount for right side carry, on your left side. Just does not work out real well, IMHO.

I have a lefty Spyderco Military I never leave home without. My right side knife varies from day-to-day. Though I do like a Spyderco Military on both sides. Fun to whip them both out, and snap them both open, see if I can get a sychronized CLICK. ;-)

I'm lefty and use right & left handed knives. I prefer a left hander. It's tough to beat the Reeve stuff and it should not cost any more to get one. I have a small Sebenza and just ordered a 2nd Reeve, left handed. If you don't like them, you can flip them easily for little to no loss of $.

Thank you all for the help. I ordered the lefty umnumzaan and should be getting it next week. This will also be my first high end knife and I am really excited.

I think you made a great choice as I love CRK products, especially the Zaan.

But if you end up wanting another Lefty def just check out Southpaw Knives like I mentioned earlier.

Ira truly puts out some amazing knives and the action on his flippers is lightning fast.

Plus he uses Thrust Bearings, which is a caged/captive system and makes his knives easy to take down and clean.

Just take a look at his website and you can view his different models.
