No I get the concept , in fact I love it!

CRK SEBENZA
Bradley Alias I & II....[HAVE II ITS GREAT]
BM Subrosa [has assisted opener]
Buck /Mayo TNT [not sure about all dem holes]
ZT 302 -[have it a tad LARGE for EDC]

Spderco sage II [not a fan of design]

above the $ 400 would be
Strider & Hinderer great heavy duty ,getting too costly

I'm open to anything under $400 with Titanium frame lock ,good steel
blade 3-3.5" slim profile would be best for EDC

my favorite is the Sebenza out of everything you mentioned, but custom TNTs are better than that even. you can get one straight from Tom Mayo for the same price as an overpriced XM-18, and they're worth every penny if you can. if you really are set on being under $400, get a used Galyean Pro Series or plain Sebenza.

"I will not purchase another custom folder, that has a hollow ground blade."
The ones mentioned are not really custom . But why not ?

A lot of people like framelocks because they think they're strong.

Despite what some might say about Lynn Thompson, Cold Steel's new Recon folders with the Demko designed Tri-Ad lock are the strongest folders out there right now (much more secure than any framelock past, present or future). Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. ;)

I would say frame locks are strong ,but I like the simplicity and minimum woving parts .

my favorite is the umnumzaan hands down. i herd about other ti framelocks wearing down after time and use, but that is not the case with the umnu because it has some kind of a ceramic ball on the lock... however i could be wrong as i do not have too much experiance with other ti framelocks, and am just hearing word of mouth from other members. it is pretty much on the dot with your budget aswell. my brother in law has a large sebenza that he swears by and my good friend has a lionsteel sr 1 that he swears by aswell if you are looking to buy cheaperish good quality stuff.

Get a small 21 and end your questioning for good.

I probably will end up with all of 'em .
If the sebenza is any better than my Bradley I would be impressed.

Hi mfm22 -

I would say you are missing an AG Russell Acies -

and a Kershaw Volt 3600 -

I have had my Acies since February, and I love it. It holds a great edge, and has gotten so smooth that it almost feels like the blade pivot is loose, but it is not - no blade play and still locks up great.

I cannot compare the Acies to a Sebenza, as I have never held one.

best regards -

Acies looks nice -I'll check it out
Kershaw too much going on -graphics busy for my taste ..I'm sure knife is good.

Would you care to elaborate a bit? How does a hollow grind blade relate to a discussion on frame locks?

Actually the title states frame locks but then the OP progressed into customs and then stated "I'm open to anything under $400 with Titanium frame lock, good steel blade 3-3.5" slim profile would be best for EDC", at which point I responded, NO hollow-ground blades for me (sic).

Having carried a Buck 110 or it's custom variants for many years, I've found that my favorite blade profile is the drop-point (thank you Mr Loveless), with convex grind.

And let me add, I'm sold on the AXIS LOCK and will be looking to buying or make a custom folder that fits my criteria within the next 30-days. :p

These are just my Opinions, your design ideas may vary.
