Frame or Liner Lock Folder with Phosphor Bronze Washers and No Flipper

So:

<$300
No flipper
Frame/liner lock
PB washers.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the 0550/1 use the KVT? Or is it just the 0560/1?

It is very easy to replace the washers if you really don't like teflon. I had a LionSteel SR-1 with teflon washers and they worked great, blade flew out like a rocket. Only reason I sold it was it was too large for EDC (I work in an office). According to DPX's website it has pb washers. However, I do know for a fact that LionSteel uses teflon, so I'm not sure about the DPx. I do have a HEAT/F OD green and I'll check right now to see if I can tell what it has.

Absolutely! the price of the Phosphor Bronze washers is a few $$ Very easy to replace. I get mine from USAKnifemaker I fit them to all my Enlan EL-01's and it makes a noticeable difference.

Depending on what you use it for, the Wilson Combat ELC also fits the bill. A little smaller than the 0550, but the Elmax they use is treated very well, and is a great steel that perform better than S35VN in my experience, though it is harder to sharpen.

A LINER LOCK?! Are you trying to get him killed?! Didn't you see the lock test video, where the liner locks got stomped by back locks? This guy should SUE YOUR FACE OFF for giving such a deadly recommendation!

By which I mean...

Wow! That is a very sexy and practical looking blade! Not a bad price point, either! Looks like a great suggestion.

Oh hell, you had me going there for a second! HAHA! :D

I loved my ELC, and have the wood handle version still. Had the multi-cam, but it just wasn't getting pocket time, so I sold it. They're great little knives, though if you don't already have toughened-up thumbs, breaking one in will be a bit painful for you because of the grip of the studs.

The ELC is also probably the sturdiest liner lock I've ever owned, so if strength of a liner lock IS one your concerns, don't let it worry you. :p ;)

Another one I thought of, the Southern Grind Bad Monkey, if a liner lock is OK (it has really beefy liners). Whitty sells them for 20% off which is a killer deal and they are a really nice knife, as long as you are ok with "such a pedestrian steel" as 14C28N.

Can you verify that it has phosphor bronze washers?

Very cool looking knife, I've never heard of it before...

I like liner locks :D

Definitely phosphor bronze washers. They aren't the largest, but once it's broken in, they're very smooth.

I will say btw that the blade is sometimes listed at 3.5", but it's actually 3.3".
Just so you don't get surprised by anything
And looking at their website it seems like they might have switched over to N690co for the steel on some of them, which is a very slight downgrade (though easier to sharpen, and some people prefer it over Elmax).
You could also look at the Fox Knives Gunhammer, which is essentially the same knife, except without the starburst handle pattern.

Three Sisters Forge Beast if you want something that blurs the lines between production and custom.

I will second the TSF Best, although, to my knowledge, it is a custom at a very reasonable price. Or, for a little over $300, you could buy two ZT 0550's - one to keep and one to share with your new best friend.:D

I also highly recommend the Beast. Absolutely love these things, though they come a little too close to the small side for me sometimes. If you like a 3" blade though, it's hard to beat them.
