I'm looking for a nice framelock folder for under $100 with a good steel. I think I know most of the production framelocks out there, but I don't know if I've missed any, or if there are some lesser known framelocks made by lesser known manufacturers. Any recommendations?

Let me add that I want it to be manual. A lot of Kershaw's are Speedsafe, and I'm not really looking for that. I want something.... classy. Not like a tactical knife or anything.

IIRC the SpeedSafe can be disabled by removing the torsion bar.

The Leek can be had with a D2 composite blade for under $100. http://kershawknives.com/productdetails.php?id=425&brand=kershaw

The JYD can also be had for under $70.

Good choices, not "tactical" in the black coated, sawteeth on the back, giant notch for a stow away lanyard sense.

You might be able to find a used Benchmade 635, the Mini Skirmish for under $100. I sold mine for $85, with some light use and a sharpen.

If you're looking for new, you may want to check out A. G. Russell's new Sea Master, or their Italian made frame lock. Both look classy enough.

A classy-ified OD-1 would still be under budget.

Or maybe a Groove.

The Catbyrd is a tough as nails SS framelock in a pretty decent steel for under $50.

Don't forget Chad Los Banos series by Boker; many are framelocks. Also BM Monochrome.

That looks lovely, what's the wood on that?

Snakewood. I'm waiting for its arrival with baited breath. Should be tomorrow. Phillip does beautiful work
Here's a look at the other side

That is very nice. Did you mill out the scale to fit the flipper, or just remove it?

It's milled out. I mill it just a bit shallow, so that it doesn't have that flipper rattle that the stock OD-1s have. It does take a few days to break it in so it's smooth, though.

A.G. Russell Italian made tactical---it is actually very classy and not all that tactical to me. Great slicer/cutter.

Spyderco volpe if you don't mind the blade shape

benchmade opportunist but it is kindof a liner lock/ framelock hybrid
