You all are okay, in my book. Now, if only they all came in tip-up carry options...

Currently own:
Camillus Cuda Maxx 5.5
Camillus Cuda Dominator
Kershaw Ti-ZDP
Kershaw Blue Bump
Benchmade 635 Mini Skirmish

I've owned, and will own again
Sebenza (large and small)
A. G. Russell Italian Ti Frame-lock
Benchmade 630 Large Skirmish

I want:
Hinderer XM-18
Hinderer Firetac
Ralph Maxx Stilleto

Grrr... And here I am trying to resist the urge to buy a Camillus CUDA EDC. (I like both the recurve drop-point blade shape and the frame lock, less enthused about the AUS 8 and the stainless, rather than Ti, frame.)

There are versions of the EDC you can pick up used with 154cm, and even Talonite to go along with the AUS 8a. I have one of all 3. The Talonite came in a box that said ATS 34 with a Talonite sticker /model number on it. I have never actually seen an ATS 34 bladed one yet though. Despite having 420 SS handles they are quite decent knives with stonewashed blades. Function is fine, though I too prefer Ti framelocks.

As for Ti framelocks the CKRT S-2 is still available in several sizes as New old stock. They are well made, ATS 34 bladed knives. There was also the Ti/AUS 118/440Acuto bladed Mirage framelocks from CRKT, also still available as NOS. The Bigger "Gray ghost" mirages were aluminium/aus6a though, so don't confuse them. The Ti one is small. Joe

I too love frame-locks - take a look at this earlier comparative discussion in the Reviews section -

Frame-Locks (ala Sebenza)

Other than the Sebenza, I particularly like the Kershaw Leeks (esp. the black "boron" version - my at home EDC) and even the budget priced Vapor ($18 from a local WalMart) - lots of reviews with lotsa pics -

Kershaw Vapor - Revisited - Black version

A $25 Sebenza? or is this just Vapor too?

I've found (maybe) 154cm versions of the EDC on sites one doesn't often, or ever, see mentioned here. They're all priced at around $50 or better. Don't know as I want to pay that much for that knife. I may just decide the AUS 8 is "good enough" and save myself $25.

I'd hadn't considered the smaller CRKT S-2's. I have a CRKT S-2 3.63" PE and like it very much. Then again: It doesn't have the blade profile the EDC has, and that's one of the attractions of the EDC, IMO. I'll hunt for the other to see what you're talking about.

Thanks for the suggestions, TM.

i hope you guys are sitting down-

my 3'' xm 18 all ti has arrived,i thought about typing while i played with it(the knife you bad minded people)-lol

its something to behold-

I developed my taste for framelocks early in my serch for the perfect one, like in 02. Just love the spartain style some of them have, but just shows a true class. Think of a Mayo with a real nice hole layout or a JW Smith. Then think of the a simple exection of a Seb or Strider. Love the lock or not, pick one of these knives up and open it. Chances are your going to nod approvingly at the lock and end up wanting one.

The small S2 is a great sleeper. AST-34 and ti framelock for under $100, you can't beat that.

Looking forward to getting one of Rick's XM-18.

take a pic quick of your virgin xm-18! I am so excited. I want one of those so bad! Now that I have the strider, nothing is in the way except availability!
