Looks like a great utility blade. Your tastes seem to have gone to the bigger the blade the better. If you made the same design in a 3.25 " blade and 7.25 over all, I'll take it. Oh yeah, it would be nice with tip up and lanyard hole, one can dream right?
i had made this no clip and no lanyard hole because that how i like my knives. i like it when they sit in the bottom of my pockets...i think lots of guys like that also....could be wrong though.
i have a 3.25 inch blade linerlock of the same knife. as i was making it i scrapped the blade. frame is still purdy same cf scales but smooth. ill have to redo a blade in the next batch. i may even put a lanyard hole and a clip......you never know
Great looking knife! I only carry my traditionals deep in the pocket. Love that knife especially if it had a deep carry clip. Just a personal preference, not enough not to want it though!
Dan
funny you mention that. after i finished the knife i was flipping it open and said the same thing "wow looks like a monster kiwi" i had a kiwi once and found the only flaw was its size (for me) subconsciously i must have filtered that into the design.
its amazing how you cant escape incorporating the things you see into the things you make.....
Do you ever use CPM 3V or 10V or make reverse tanto blades? I like CPM 3V since I can sharpen it to a crazy sharp edge (as compared to other steels) and I think 10V should be the same...with better edge retention.
s90v has better edge retention than either of those 2 steels. and its stainless. 3v is valuable in tough use knives like choppers and swords. on a folder you have the luxury of using a less tough steel with better edge retention , as you wont be chopping with it.
how does the licensing go on that opening hole? did you have a bit of a chat with spyderco and send a little money their way, or do they only have rights to the round hole?
