Framelock on CQC7B

So, one of these days I'll be buying a CQC7B.

(Right, Lycosa? :P)

I would love to have a Ti framelock put on.

Now, who does that type of work, and how much should I expect to pay?

While we're talking about that, I believe Charlie Mike has a 7 with handles that are rounded at the end - 6 handles I believe?

Are those modified from 7 handles, or taken from a whole other knife?

If you get lucky, you might find an HD 7, which is basically a cqc7b with a frame lock from the factory.
 
I will be customizing the knife anyways, so it would make sense to have it all done at the same time.

Thus, framelock from the factory isn't really necessary.

The handles on my CQC7b were made entirely by Reese Weiland. Here is a pic of my exact knife from his site.

From Reese, you're looking at paying $275 and up.
 
They certainly are nice, but it;s a bit pricey for me.

Skip the custom handles then, what about just the slab for the framelock?
 
He does regrinding and can also do just a slab locking side, dunno the price though.

Not to butt in on the conspiracy theorists anonymous meeting, but I have a question for you, Charlie.

The custom job Reese did on your CQC-7 to CQC-6 conversion, specifically the handle - what material and finish is that? Is that blackened steel? Anodized titanium?

I'm thinking of having something similar done to one of my Emersons, and I want that exact colour for my handle.

The pictured 7 is Ti with a SS spacer. Ti and clip were bead blasted.
 
Slim to none bro :D

Anything that has been touched by Reese is a keeper for me.
