Looking for suggestions on this. So far I am looking at the Spyderco Perrin PPT. Nice looking knife, it's right at the $125 mark and I don't want to go any higher than that as I will be ordering 3 knives or more at once, so I need to trim it back a little :o

Things I like:
-Flippers
-Tip up carry option
-A knife with a little heft

Things I dislike:
-Serrations
-Blades under 2.75"
-Assisted open

Spyderco Sage 2 gets a lot of recommendations, sometimes called the "poor man's Sebenza".

The Sage is nice, but definately not under $125. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Does it have to be titanium?Because the Kershaw Storm 2 is a nice,hefty,non-AO,tip-up capable, stainless framelock flipper & it's goes for around $40.

You could try to track down one of the Kershaw JYD framelocks, they fit all your requirements except the tip up option, and should be very well under your budget. Unless you meant to include only titanium framelocks...

Kershaw does have a lot of framelock models even including some of the Leeks. For that matter I think you can sometimes buy ZT blems for close to $100.

Haha. The Kershaw JYD composite is one of the other knives being ordered with this one actually. I see they made a frame lock version but it only pops up sporadically from what I'm seeing. And the only ones I seem to find in the framelock version are the Air Force edition they did. The JYD is going to be my beat around working knife. What I'm looking for is a middle ground price-wise between that and the Valloton I just got.

So the verdicts are

JYD- beat you to it
Sage- Eh, not sure I like it enough to pay for it
PPT- still a possibility

That BM would be a very appealing knife if it didn't have all those damn holes in the grip. Other than that, I like it ok.

A. G. Russell sells a Titanium framelock with a spear point blade (full flat grind) that looks great, and comes in right @ $100.

While I'm sure the OD-1 is a fine knife I am looking for somewhat of a middle ground between the JYD an my new Valloton (LOVE it btw). Not looking to take a step down.

Spyderco Chokwe? It can be had for $125 new

I considered the Chokwe but decided it was just too angular for me. That's why I prefer the PPT. So far that's the way I'm leaning. Still looking for suggestions though.
