Framelock Video!

I'm nearly caught up with copying tapes. All I can say is Wow! I really wasn't expecting quite this showing of interest this quickly. I am VERY appreciative of all the orders that have come in so far and most of the tapes should be getting to you by early next week. Really looking forward to seeing what all you guys do with the info. With all the collected talent here there should be some great folders being made this summer! :)

Let me be the first to say that I received the video, and Peter did a great job on it. I've watched about 1/3 of it so far, and I look forward to seeing the rest. Great job. Thanks -chris

Thanks guys, I'm really glad to hear that you like it! It was quite a challenge to fit all the info into just a 2 hour and 40 minute tape. I hope there's enough there though for you to build some great folders.

Nathan, I'm running an old washing machine motor with a 1 inch pulley to a 6 inch pulley mounted on an arbor. It slows it down big time but I don't know the RPMs. How 'bout that glue trick? ;)

Peter
I seen the big pulley below the disc you just mounted the disc onto the shaft and run a belt to the motor.
I like the sandpaper slaped on the fan while you sprayed it.
One of the best videos I have seen,I will have to try may hand at a folder, once I really get a grasp on fixed blade.:)

Peter, couple things.
"Don!!!" is one of the best parts when he tells you he is a lefty.
Ques: the detent ball being seated, does is snap in, did you hammer it to seat it?

Great video. Nice job all the way through....

Tracy,

Glad you enjoyed it! I'm really glad that Don left that part in because it was pretty comical. And he DID like it! :D

The detent ball was pressed in. It doesn't take much to press it into place. I used the back of the tweezers and my fingers. You have to watch it trying to dry fit the ball because you'll get it stuck in there and then when you want to take it out to do the final fit up and add a little super glue, you'll find you can't get it out. If you do mess it up you can soak the part in ferric chloride overnight and remove the detent ball that way.

You probably don't need the super glue but it doesn't hurt. Just make sure to glue it in AFTER heat treating the lock face. :)

Any other questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks!
