I love a great burl. Obviously this isn't a Fiddleback, but it's not a regular knife so I doubt Andy would mind.

Just some of my Deepwoods carvers. The burl would look killer on a Kephart.
 
Yeah, Andy's black ash burl is one of the things that keeps bringing me back to wood. Each knife is art anyway, and the BAB takes it to another level.
 
Killer Black ash there Strigamort , they look like top quality tools mate. Awesome!

Thanks, they are very good carvers if the ergos fit you. The ones with burl are forged 1095, but the two Drake tools (background, last pic) are o1. Aesthetically the Deepwoods knives win, but the tool steel is better.

I want one of the FF carvers in a bad way, but I think there could be improvements if the knife were to be used primarily as a wood carving knife. The Fiddleback carver looks to be more of a hybrid to me.

I would very much like to try the 2fKarda in that role too.
 
Well it sure doesn't suck Thurin, just looking at it I like it. After playing with Bill's Bushfinger for a while, I still need to try a newer one. I do like the knew ones better overall than the first one.
