These are a few of my new creations. First, there was a composite blade Leek. Then an all-black Leek. Then there's the blue-and-black aluminum handled Leek. Here are my new versions...

Yes, my photos suck. I'm trying to get better, but it just ain't working. Flash on, flash off. Macro on, macro off. Close up, far way but zoomed in. I'm lost.

Man, I need to stop spending so much time alone. My vision is so blurry now. ;)

Those leeks deserve a focused picture JNieporte. You're better than that. Especially if you post them in two threads at once :)

yea...those pictures are giving me a headache. :)

I really like the black handled leek. that looks sharp.

Indoor, well that sucked so let's try outdoor. Use the timer, no nevermind on the timer. Try the editor on the computer, well that made it worse. I'm lost.

Anyway, you get the idea of what I did.

try turning on all the lights, far away with the flash. those knives arent too shiny, try taking a picture of my Shun! thing was a pain in the a--

Need more light. Your camera kicked the ISO up to 400 (according to EXIF), which is why the graininess came out. Try to stay around ISO 100 if possible.

One nice thing about digital photography over film, is you can add more lights without really having to worry too much about their color temperature...you can always fix it in post (or sometimes in-camera ;) ). Grab a couple of those clamp-on lights at the hardware store, and put one on either side, one closer than the other.

I'm guessing it wouldn't work but it would be sweet to have one side G-10 scales, then the other side the frame lock.

Sweet I thought there woulda been thickness differences between the two, that would make it not fit right but guess not, thanks.

My Franken Leek project will now be:

G-10 swirl scale
Composite Blade
The stainless framelock that comes with the combo edge.

Scan them. Leave the lid open with the room dark!

Nice job!

Or scan them with a back-drop. I suck with a digi also. :o

My scanner is my best friend........:D

I have posted about this before, but it seems relevant to post again here... I made what I called the "ultimate" Leek out of two knives. I used a G10 outer scale with the S30V blade, and changed out the lock side for a titanium framelock. I had to file down the screws because it is thinner (a bonus feature). It was the Strider of Leeks. I had to sell it to raise funds for another purchase, but I loved that knife.

Did you use the TI frame from a TIZDP Leek? If so, whatcha gonna do with that ZDP blade? :D

The framelock was from a TiZDP, but I don't have any of the parts or knives anymore. I wish I had pictures of the finished product, it was pretty sweet!

Hey Vincent; you're going to sell me that G-10 / ZDP Leek, right? I'll make you an offer you can't refuse.

I love my Leeks.

I know you do, and I'd never ask you to part with any of them. Sometimes though, I just want to take a Leek. :o

Take a Leek, ha! Okay, I'm done now. Vincent; do you have any photos of your entire Leek collection?

I don't have a big enough scanner. :D

I have plenty disassembled Leeks in baggies also.
A lot of the time, I take "left overs", put'em together and give away
to friends and family. It feels good to spread my Leeks around. ;)

Got any left-overs? :D
I'll even give you some folding currency for some. (Sorry if this is considered buying; I'd rather put money in a Forum member's pocket than a knife store's.)
