Hey All,

It's been a while since I've posted a new thread. Been caught up with a new job -- so I've been far less active.

So many of you have seen my Optimized Edges that I've put on my knives. They usually go quite right. Every once in a blue moon -- a FrankenMod emerges. Instead of hiding it in the closet --- I thought I'd let this wild one loose. She may not be pretty, in fact -- she down right scary looking --- BUT --- I think I love it?!!!

No TALON HOLE BOSSJACK

You just had to ask..... More to come sheesh. I'll be at THIS all damn day Rob.... ;)

I like that little pig sticker of yours. ... Makes me want to do that to the above blade.....

Nice! Bring on the madness! I started out profiling the scalpel to 9-10 degrees each side and then put a 14 degree micro bevel. Then I made the other side a little more obtuse. I got wild n crazy --- I thought I'd hate it when I finished. Now I really like it lol. It's definitely SLICEY

I was surprised when I went to thin out my BB13 and discovered that the "flats" actually had a fairly significant hollow on them. I don't mind though, it has loads of character now :

That is a great example of INFI exposed vs hiding under decarb! I like it!

This was a Rodent 3 I did a choil mod to a few years back.

lol I wish it was a swedge ---- it's just a product of the Hollow Grind. As I was reprofiling it to 10 degrees --- the spine started getting grounded also --- but only on one side. A true Freak Mod!

What's the other side look like? I hope when they finally get around to selling knives again, that Busse offers a hollow ground knife or two.

Same happened to me with my BB13. Stripped and sanded it to find a shallow hollow grind with a wave in it. Been rubbing it with flat stones for a while...it is coming out slowly. Very similar to yours Nate

OH my... You ruined that KniferMan!
Still, no point in throwing away INFI I guess. Let me get that off your hands. I'll give it a nice rehab in Norway.

Here's my boss street I thought I ruined but now it's my favorite small blade. Not 100% done yet as I still have some finishing work and I'm working on a leather sheath for it.

You guys are killin it --- looks awesome!

Here is a small choil SAR 8 that was just begging for some special attention. It came to my hooves with no handle and victim of some 1x30 oops marks on it, so I cleaned her up. First was to make & install some 1/4" hand smoothed black linen scales for it, then open up the small choil into something useful that kind of follows the flow of the handle shape, cleaned up the finish to look more like factory satin again and then take the convex edge back to shaving sharp. She's a much prettier and more functional user now.

This was after the handles were made/installed but before the choil, finish & edge were worked on.

Rob that blade looks killer mean!!! I'd strip it, round out the handles a bit and call it done!

Thanks man! I just might do that --- if I strip it, I might just go ahead and polish the entire blade to a near mirror. Frictionless Bliss!!

Has anyone here ever thinned down a whole knife? Like say you have a knife that is .25" thick, but you are wishing it was closer to .125" or .156" thick. Even under the handle slabs, not just the blade.
